Vlog Episode 11: The Open House

This past week I reached a milestone that has been 2.5 years in the making… the house is finally complete.

At the start of 2016 just a few short months ago, my to-do list was a mile long and included building out a garage entrance/office nook, a master bathroom gut job and renovation, and planning/designing a guest room and entire empty downstairs space.

It was a job I’d have to take on by myself, and with the help of a few awesome contractors, I managed to pull it off by my April 1st deadline—with not one second to spare before my open house this past Saturday.

It’s hard to put this feeling into words—a mixture of exhaustion, relief, accomplishment, elation and anticipation, tinged by sadness knowing that it’s all over.

But I’ve been through sad endings before, and know the exciting and wonderful things that await just on the other side… so I’m ready to bring this chapter to an end.

This week’s vlog is a compilation of nearly four minutes of highlights, including last minute DIY projects, shots at the open house and sneak previews of never before seen completed spaces. I can’t lie, I get a little emotional watching this episode. I’m gonna miss home.

Up next to share is the Master Bathroom Reveal post! So in love with this space and I think you’ll enjoy it as well 🙂 That’s scheduled for Friday, followed by a full source list/budget breakdown post Monday.

Cheers to setting & reaching those big goals,

Your work is beautiful! You should be really proud of yourself!
What is the space around 3:30? I don’t recognize it from other blog posts.
    Warm regards,

  5. Sad and happy at the same time. Fantastic house. Since you created this, you can create a new home where ever you go. Enjoy the time you have left there. Drink in the space and beauty around you. Let those feelings come in and flow out again. Great job.

  6. Beautiful and another great Vlog!! Your future looks bright, Jenna Sue!! I read a lot of blogs but yours is the only one that truly “touches” me… and I’m sure I’m not the only one that feels that way.. you have a story to tell and you do it in a special way that others can’t come close to. Keep up the good work!!

  7. The house turned out so beautiful. A great thing about creating such a beautiful space is that you’ll be able to do it again in a new home, and make new happy memories there. Good luck with selling, I’m sure it’ll go fast!

  8. This house is absolutely beautiful and the transformation it has undergone is truly breathtaking. Your work is a huge inspiration of mine. You’ll do great things whereever your path may lead you 🙂

  9. Jenna your home is absolutely beautiful! I can only imagine the emotions that you’re going through! Your attention to detail is what makes your home so exceptional! You are one talented young woman and I wish you the best of luck in everything! You certainly deserve it! Take care Kathy

Wishing you nothing but the best.

  11. You are so talented! It is all so beautiful. I always look forward to your vlogs – in all honesty, I watch less for your DIY posts or reveals (your style is lovely, just different from mine) but because you are such a hard worker. When someone has that much passion, work ethic, and drive it’s impossible to look away. Your video work, furniture builds, writing – I love that you keep learning and trying new things and it inspires me to push myself to try another new thing, or go ahead and take a leap into a new adventure too.

  12. You have amazing talent. The house is beautiful. I’m in awe of how it used to look like before. Where is the house located? I would love moving there if I could convince my husband

  13. It’s all just beautiful Jenna. You did a fabulous job and I wish you the best with a quick sell.

  14. What a beautiful home and view! You’ve inspired this Minnesota girl to do some planking 🙂
Could you tell me what the height of your planks are?

  15. Jenna,
This vlog pulled at my heartstrings. The song’s melody sparked emotions of sadness and loss. But when I saw the sign “the best is yet to come”, it made me smile and I felt excited for your new unwritten chapter. I have followed you since Florida and I hope you will continue to let “us” follow your journey. I admire you for your strength, vulnerability and resilience you have showed the past 6 months. You go girl! I can’t wait to see what you create next.
    xo Michele
